Moving in the Spirit received the prestigious Coming Up Taller Award in 2005 from the President’s Committee for the Arts & Humanities for excellence in arts and humanities youth development.

Moving in the Spirit won the 2001 Target Arts Education Abby Award from the Arts and Business Council of the Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Co-founder and Executive/Artistic Director, Dana Marie Lupton, received the prestigious Mayor’s Fellowship Award in 1998 and was named the May 2001 Lexus Leader for the Arts by Public Broadcasting Atlanta.

Moving in the Spirit has been awarded grants in 2001 and 2003 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund.
